A driver who insulted a woman during a road dispute in Uchtepa district, Tashkent, was sentenced to 15 days of administrative detention, the capital’s Main Department of Internal Affairs reported.

“I had dropped my daughter off at kindergarten. I was slowly reversing when this man came speeding through the mahalla, on a road where there are two kindergartens. I wondered what I had done wrong, so I pulled my car aside and got out. Even when I was reversing, there was enough space behind me for him to pass. He could have simply driven by. There were even worse swear words and insults. He snatched my phone from my hand and refused to give it back. I have been shaking since the morning and still cannot calm down,” the victim said.

According to the report, in connection with the incident, officers of the Uchtepa District Department for Coordination of Internal Affairs drew up an administrative report against the man under Article 183 of the Code of Administrative Liability, which covers petty hooliganism. The man was accused of deliberately violating public conduct rules by using obscene language in a public place. The collected documents were then submitted to the district criminal court in accordance with the established procedure.

After that, the man was sentenced to 15 days of administrative detention under Article 183 of the Code of Administrative Liability.

“I apologize. This will not happen again. I will treat others with respect. Next time, I will learn to control my anger at home, calm down properly, and only then go out. This will not happen again,” the man said.

It was also reported that a protection order was issued to the female victim after the incident.

Earlier, a man who committed an indecent act against a female passenger on a bus was sentenced to 15 days of administrative detention.
