Yesterday, November 28, it was discovered that a fetus, estimated to be 3–6 months old, had been buried in the ground of Workshop No. 12 at the Fergana Oil Refinery. This was reported by Hayot Shamsutdinov, press secretary of the General Prosecutor’s Office, to QALAMPIR.UZ.
According to the report, at around 10:25 AM, the fetus was found in the territory of Workshop No. 12, located at 240 Sanoat Street, “Kirguli” neighborhood, Fergana city.
A rapid investigation team, led by the city prosecutor, visited the site to examine the area and the deceased fetus. Blood-like stains were collected from the site as material evidence.
It was determined that at around 10:00 AM, a watchdog had dug into the ground in the parking area of Workshop No. 12, exposing the buried fetus. Workshop employees who witnessed this immediately reported it through proper channels.
According to preliminary findings of the forensic medical examination conducted to determine the cause of death and injuries, the fetus was identified as a male, approximately 3–4 months old, and had died in utero due to intrauterine infection and hypoxia.
A forensic-biological examination has been ordered to collect and preserve the fetus’s genetic material, compare it with existing genetic databases, and identify the parents.
Investigations are currently underway to locate the mother of the deceased fetus.
In addition, the regional Health Department and city police have been instructed to identify women who sought medical help following an abortion or artificial termination, as well as any relevant factory employees.
The Fergana city prosecutor’s office is conducting pre-investigation checks, and supervision has been established over the ongoing investigation.
