16-year-old girl dies in car accident in Khorezm (video)

A video circulating on social media shows a Gentra vehicle hitting a woman crossing a pedestrian walkway at high speed in the Khorezm region. The incident was confirmed by the regional Traffic Safety Department to QALAMPIR.UZ.

According to the authorities, the accident occurred on November 10 this year, at the 11th kilometer of the D221 road in the ’’Tagan’’ neighborhood of the Yangiariq district. The 37-year-old driver of a Lacetti vehicle struck a girl born in 2009, who was crossing the road from the right to the left side via an unregulated pedestrian crossing. Despite receiving medical attention, the girl, a resident of the Yangiariq district, passed away.

Following the incident, the Yangiariq District Internal Affairs Department has opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code (violation of traffic rules or vehicle operation safety). Pre-investigation inquiry actions are currently being conducted.

It should be recalled that earlier, a road accident involving multiple vehicles on the A-373 ’’Tashkent–Osh’’ international highway in Angren, Tashkent region, resulted in the deaths of seven people.
