During a press conference organized by the Milliy Tiklanish Democratic Party on January 16, Alisher Kadyrov, Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and leader of the Milliy Tiklanish party, was asked to clarify his recent appeal to migrants in which he said: “Use your common sense and leave Russia as soon as possible. No income is worth the tears of your parents and children.”
Speaking at the briefing about Russia’s migration system, the lawmaker said Uzbek citizens should not allow themselves to be humiliated and must leave any place where they are not valued. He stressed that his remarks were not specifically aimed at urging migrants to return to Uzbekistan.
“I urged migrants to leave Russia, not to return,” Alisher Kadyrov said.
Explaining his position further, the deputy noted that employment opportunities exist not only in Russia but also in other developed countries.
He also emphasized that Uzbeks are hardworking people and that Uzbek migrants should not be subjected to humiliation.
“Migrants can work not only in Russia, but also in countries such as Sweden, Norway, the Baltic states, Poland, Romania, Austria, and Germany,” the lawmaker said.
It was noted at the briefing that many countries are currently showing strong interest in Uzbek labor migrants.
Earlier, it was reported that an Uzbek citizen had died in Russia as a result of alleged torture carried out by OMON officers. Following the incident, Alisher Kadyrov called on Uzbek citizens to urgently leave Russia.
