Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s eldest daughter, Head of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, met yesterday, October 13, in London with Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). She reported this on her social media pages.

According to her, due to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s policy of openness and reforms aimed at increasing the country’s prosperity, the mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EBRD has reached a qualitatively new level. With the support of the Bank, large-scale infrastructure projects are being implemented in irrigation and the ’’green’’ economy sectors, which are of particular importance.

’’We highly appreciate the support for the Women in Business and Youth in Business programs, which are positively changing the lives of many women and young people in our country, as well as the cooperation in implementing projects aimed at the sustainable development of the region in Karakalpakstan,’’ Saida Mirziyoyeva wrote.

Additionally, during the meeting, it was unanimously agreed that, thanks to the joint efforts of Central Asian countries to maintain good-neighborly relations, a climate of trust and cooperation has been established in the region. Saida Mirziyoyeva expressed confidence that the partnership with the EBRD will continue to contribute to the prosperity of Uzbekistan and the entire region.

It is worth noting that on October 9, Saida Mirziyoyeva met in Brussels with Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, and with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas. Additionally, Mirziyoyeva met with Josef Sikela, European Commissioner for International Partnerships, in Brussels.
