Shavkat Mirziyoyev meets with Alparslan Bayraktar

On December 5, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye. The meeting was reported by the president’s press service.
It was noted that the heads of Türkiye’s leading companies—Cemil Kozancı of AKSA and Ahmet Cengiz of Cengiz Energy—also took part in the meeting. At the beginning of the conversation, the distinguished guest conveyed President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s greetings and best wishes to the leader of Uzbekistan.
The sides discussed further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye. Both countries expressed satisfaction with the high level of bilateral collaboration achieved to date. Mutual trade and investment indicators, the number of joint ventures, and the frequency of direct flights continue to grow.
Particular emphasis was placed on the successful operations of Turkish companies in Uzbekistan, including joint projects to build modern power plants with a total capacity of 1.8 gigawatts and worth 1 billion dollars.
The discussion also addressed new cooperation initiatives in the fields of energy and geology, including localizing modern technologies, producing energy equipment, improving management of distribution networks, jointly developing promising mineral deposits, and training specialists for the sector.
Earlier, President Mirziyoyev participated in a ceremony dedicated to launching new energy capacities and initiating construction of additional facilities, where it was announced that next year, based on Chinese experience, 107 megawatts of solar power capacity will be installed in 300 neighborhoods across Uzbekistan through cooperation with local residents.
