Ministry employee detained with bribe in Tashkent region

Illegal cases related to obtaining permits and assigning pensions were uncovered in Tashkent Region and the Republic of Karakalpakstan. This was reported by the State Security Service.
In the case recorded in Tashkent Region, a methodologist at a district preschool and school education department allegedly demanded 1.5 million soums from a citizen who wanted to open a private family kindergarten in exchange for arranging a permit confirming that the house met sanitary requirements. She also allegedly demanded $200 to obtain a positive conclusion on compliance with fire safety requirements. She was detained with material evidence while receiving the requested money.
The operation was then continued, and the illegal actions of a senior inspector of the district emergency situations department were also stopped while he was receiving $200 from the methodologist.
In another case, a woman born in 1970 and living in Chimboy district of Karakalpakstan was detained while receiving 7 million soums from a citizen born in 1969 and residing in Kegeyli district. The money was allegedly taken in exchange for increasing the citizen’s length of service to help secure an old-age pension.
It was established that the woman planned to carry out the scheme through her son, who holds a responsible position at the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
Criminal cases have been opened over these incidents, and investigative actions are underway.
Earlier, it was reported that a junior inspector of the Public Order Department of the Internal Affairs Directorate in Khorezm Region had demanded a bribe in exchange for helping a person get a job in the internal affairs bodies.
