Man detained for organizing a gambling den in Tashkent (video)

A gambling operation was shut down during a special operation conducted in the Olmazor district of Tashkent. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the report, a man born in 1998 had illegally organized games of chance at one of the houses on Dilsaroy Street in Tashkent’s Olmazor district. It was also established that he had created conditions for people to participate in gambling.

During the operation, cash, a rubber baton and playing cards were seized from the scene as evidence.

“For the past four or five months, I had been gambling with acquaintances. I regret what I did. I knew that this kind of activity was prohibited. At that time, I needed money for personal expenses. I would not recommend this to anyone,” the suspect said.

It was reported that a criminal case has been opened under Article 278 of the Criminal Code, which covers the organization and conduct of gambling and other risk-based games.

It is worth noting that on January 29 this year, a person who had organized a gambling event involving 121 participants was detained in the Yangi Namangan district of Namangan region.
