Social media has been reporting that tuition contract prices at higher education institutions in Uzbekistan will rise by 15 percent starting from the 2025–2026 academic year. To clarify these rumors, QALAMPIR.UZ contacted Nazokat Abdukunduzova, Press Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation.
According to Abdukunduzova, the reports circulating online are unfounded. However, she confirmed that a proposal to increase tuition fees has been submitted to the ministry’s leadership. If approved, the contract amounts could rise by 10–15 percent.
“All information on this matter will be published through the ministry’s official information channels,” Abdukunduzova emphasized.
It should be noted that in the previous academic year (2024–2025), tuition contract prices were also increased by 15 percent.
