Although it rained in Tashkent on December 4, the precipitation did not improve the air quality. Uzhydromet explained the reasons behind this.

According to the agency, despite the rainfall, the concentration of PM2.5 particles in the capital was again above the permissible limit on the morning of December 5.

Data from Tashkent’s automated air-quality monitoring stations show that as of 09:00:

• The concentration of PM10 fine particulate matter reached 88.5 µg/m³, which did not exceed the permissible limit of 300 µg/m³.
• The concentration of PM2.5 fine particulate matter reached 64 µg/m³, exceeding the permissible limit by 1.07 times (60 µg/m³).

The agency reported that fluctuations in temperature contributed to the increase in pollution levels.

“A sharp change in temperature triggers an inversion process, causing fine particulate matter to settle in the atmosphere and leading to higher concentration levels,” Uzhydromet explained.

It is worth noting that on December 3, 2025, the air quality in Tashkent had significantly improved.
