Energosavdo legal adviser detained while taking bribe in Andijan

A senior legal adviser at the Andijan branch of Energosavdo under Hududiy Elektr Tarmoqlari JSC demanded a $5,000 bribe in exchange for cancelling 788 million soums in damages, the State Security Service reported.

According to the report, the senior legal adviser at the Andijan branch of Energosavdo demanded $5,000 from an LLC engaged in cheese production in exchange for resolving material damages of 788.4 million soums. The damages had been calculated in an official report over the improper use of electricity.

On May 1 this year, he received $500 of the requested amount.

During an operation conducted jointly by officers of the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, he was detained with physical evidence while receiving the remaining $4,500.

A criminal case has been opened against the legal adviser, and investigative actions are underway.

It is worth noting that an employee of the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement was earlier detained with a $1,500 bribe in Khiva district, Khorezm region.
