It was previously reported that students of School No. 24 in the Buka district of the Tashkent region were made to participate in landscaping work after arriving late to school. Disciplinary action has been taken against the deputy director who assigned this task to the students, according to the regional Department of Preschool and School Education.
A working group formed by the district education department investigated the situation and reviewed the circumstances in detail. The incident occurred on April 30 of this year, involving 11th-grade students who arrived late to class. Due to repeated tardiness, the deputy director for spiritual and educational affairs tasked the students with removing weeds from the school’s flower garden in an attempt to instill discipline. The activity reportedly lasted around 10 minutes, after which the students returned to their lessons.
As a result of the investigation, the deputy director was issued an official warning.
It should be noted that a similar incident recently occurred at School No. 43 in the Pop district of the Namangan region. Despite the school being on vacation, the director summoned teachers to campus and forced them to carry out unrelated tasks until 4:00 p.m. Following an internal review, the director was fined.
