Construction company head who defrauded residents arrested in Bukhara

The head of a construction company accused of misappropriating large sums of money from citizens has been arrested in Bukhara, the regional Department of Internal Affairs reported.

According to the statement, investigative actions are under way in a criminal case initiated by the Investigation Department against officials of Global Lux Story Impeks LLC and other individuals.

It was reported that the company’s head, born in 1989, gained the trust of more than 40 citizens between 2019 and 2023 by promising to sell apartments in a building under construction at No. 14 on Islam Karimov Street in Bukhara, as well as at other locations. By concluding fake contracts and falsifying documents, he allegedly obtained large sums of money from citizens through fraudulent means.

A criminal case has been initiated against him under Article 168, Part 4, Clause “a” of the Criminal Code (fraud). As a preventive measure, he has been taken into custody, and preliminary investigative actions are ongoing.

The Bukhara Regional Department of Internal Affairs has asked citizens who may have been affected by the actions of this individual to contact law enforcement via 112 or by calling +99865 220-41-24 and +99898 278-09-07.

It is worth noting that earlier it was reported that the misappropriation of 186 billion soums in budget funds had been uncovered within the Ministry of Internal Affairs system, leading to criminal cases against Deputy Minister Bekmurod Abdullaev and department head Rustam Tursunov.
