Citizens in Uzbekistan are being advised not to rush into making online prepayments for guest houses or "dachas." The Tashkent Regional Main Department of Internal Affairs has issued a public warning regarding increasing online fraud.

According to the report, numerous online advertisements are being posted, especially for guest houses located in the mountainous areas of the Bostanlyk district, Tashkent region. Among these listings, scammers have begun placing highly convincing fake advertisements. The photos and videos used are often taken from legitimate listings to make the offers appear genuine.

The key difference is that scammers advertise large, luxurious houses at unusually low prices. They pressure potential clients by claiming there are many interested customers and emphasize the need for immediate prepayment. Once payment is made, the scammers delete the ad and all communication with the victim.

“To avoid falling victim to such scams, use only official platforms when booking accommodations,” the report advises. “Never prepay for guest houses advertised at suspiciously low prices.”
