Uzhydromet has announced the weather forecast for the weekend of May 9-10.
According to the agency, dry weather will prevail across most of the country tomorrow, May 9. However, short-term rain and thunderstorms are possible in some areas of Bukhara, Navoi, Samarkand and Jizzakh regions in the afternoon. Daytime temperatures will drop to 28-33 degrees Celsius across all regions.
On May 10, rain is expected across most of Uzbekistan, with thunderstorms in some areas. Heavy rain may occur in certain places. Relatively cool weather is forecast, with daytime temperatures not exceeding 20-25 degrees Celsius.
On May 11, short-term rain and thunderstorms are possible in some areas of Tashkent Region and the Fergana Valley, as well as in parts of Samarkand, Jizzakh and Syrdarya regions at night and in the morning. No precipitation is expected in other regions. Temperatures will rise by 2-3 degrees.
On May 9, wind speeds may increase to 15-20 m/s in windy and desert areas. On May 10-11, wind speeds may reach 15-20 m/s in some areas across the country, and on May 9-10, they may occasionally strengthen to 23-25 m/s in certain places. Dust storms may occur.
In foothill and mountainous areas of the country, rain will fall from time to time. On May 10-11, it may be heavy in some places, with thunderstorms expected. Mudflows and flooding may occur.
No precipitation is expected in Tashkent on May 8-9. Temperatures will reach 34-36 degrees Celsius on May 8 and 30-32 degrees on May 9. On May 10, intermittent rain and possible thunderstorms are forecast, with daytime temperatures of 20-22 degrees. On May 11, short-term rain and possible thunderstorms are expected, with temperatures of 23-25 degrees. The easterly wind will shift to the west and blow at 3-8 m/s, strengthening to 10-12 m/s at times. Dust storms may occur in some parts of the city on May 9.
