GTA in Uzbekistan. A “trap” used on a phone thief in Bukhara (video)

On September 14, an iPhone thief attempting to flee in a Nexia-3 car in the Bukhara region was stopped through a police interception plan, the regional Department of Internal Affairs reported.

According to the information, a resident of the Bukhara district, H.S., called the 102 hotline of the regional Internal Affairs Department. He had posted his iPhone for sale online. Following the ad, a stranger contacted him by phone and arrived in a white Nexia-3 with tinted windows and no visible license plate. Claiming he would fetch the payment from his car, the man got inside and drove away with the phone.

In connection with this incident, at 02:30 a.m., a police operation was launched to intercept the Nexia-3 vehicle with the unidentified license plate.

During the search, officers determined that the vehicle was moving along Islam Karimov Street in Bukhara. At 04:41 a.m., the driver, identified as M.A., born in 2003 in Bukhara district and residing in the Foshun mahalla of Bukhara city, ignored lawful stop orders from traffic police officers and caused damage to several vehicles.

The driver and the vehicle were subsequently detained. The Bukhara regional prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 219 of the Criminal Code (resisting a representative of authority or a person performing a civil duty). In addition, the investigation department of the regional Internal Affairs Department initiated proceedings under Part 3 of Article 166 (robbery). M.A. was arrested under Article 221 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Preliminary investigations are ongoing.

It is worth noting that earlier in the Guzar district of the Kashkadarya region, a quarrel broke out between a Cobalt driver and road patrol officers, during which the driver struck a traffic police officer in the head. Following the altercation, the man’s vehicle was impounded.
