Chinese companies to conduct exploration at Uzbekistan’s deposits

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of leading Chinese companies and financial institutions headed by Wang Hongzhi, head of the National Energy Administration of China, as part of the Tashkent International Investment Forum. The presidential press service reported this.
The meeting was attended by executives of China Energy Engineering Corporation, China Datang, Sinoma Energy Conservation, China Southern Power Grid, CAMCE, CNNC and State Nuclear Uranium Resource Development, as well as representatives of the Export-Import Bank of China and Bank of China.
The parties considered issues related to promoting mutually beneficial high-tech projects in the energy and geology sectors, as well as expanding practical cooperation in banking and finance.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed deep satisfaction with the rapid development of Uzbekistan-China cooperation in trade, economic and investment areas.
Since the beginning of this year, trade turnover has exceeded $6 billion, while more than $8 billion in direct investment from China has been absorbed. Nearly 6,000 joint ventures are successfully operating in Uzbekistan.
Special attention was paid to promoting projects in the field of green energy. Solar and wind power plants, as well as energy storage systems, are being built in Uzbekistan with the participation of leading Chinese companies.
Plans to accelerate these projects and launch new initiatives, including expanding the capacity of photovoltaic power plants, introducing agrivoltaics and building power transmission lines, were supported.
Particular attention was also paid to cooperation in producing energy through waste processing, as well as developing data centers and other modern technological solutions.
The parties exchanged views on prospects for cooperation in mining and geology. In this area, joint geological exploration and development of deposits, as well as the establishment of long-term partnerships in the supply of critical raw materials, are envisaged.
During the talks, priority attention was given to expanding financial cooperation with major Chinese banks. The parties discussed financing infrastructure projects, modernizing irrigation systems, building high-speed highways and hydroelectric power plants, supplying agricultural machinery, and supporting small and medium-sized businesses.
Participants in the meeting thanked the Head of State for proactive dialogue and reaffirmed their firm commitment to the unconditional implementation of the agreements reached.
Earlier, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov and a delegation led by Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates, as part of the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum.
