President Mirziyoyev meets with French Minister of Transport

On November 27, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Philippe Tabarot, Minister of Transport of the French Republic, who arrived in Tashkent to participate in the Trans-Caspian Transport and Connectivity Investor Forum, the President’s Press Service reported.

At the beginning of the meeting, the French minister conveyed warm regards and best wishes from President Emmanuel Macron to the head of state.

“The meeting focused on implementing agreements reached during the historic high-level visit to Paris in March of this year, further developing strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and France, particularly in transport and logistics cooperation,” the report stated.

Discussions also highlighted the expansion of civil aviation cooperation, the training of highly skilled transport specialists, and the use of opportunities provided by the newly established Uzbekistan–France University.

It is worth noting that the Uzbek–French University has been established to operate in accordance with Uzbek legislation and recommendations from the consortium of French universities. Academic programs will be introduced gradually, starting with master’s programs, followed later by bachelor’s and doctoral programs.
