The operations of three workshops belonging to Navoi Azot JSC and Sogda Kimyo Zavod LLC in the Navoi region have been temporarily suspended by a court decision. This was reported by the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change.
According to the ministry, the regional Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, together with other specialists, inspected category I and II enterprises and lime kilns operating near Navoi city and the Karmana district. During the inspections, 22 industrial enterprises were found to be violating environmental regulations. As a result, their activities were suspended by court order, and 25 officials were held administratively liable.
In addition, lawsuits were filed in economic courts to halt the operations of 22 enterprises and workshops that negatively impact the atmosphere. Of these, 20 cases were reviewed by the Karmana Interdistrict Economic Court, and 19 claims were upheld.
On September 23, the Economic Affairs Panel of the Navoi Regional Court reviewed the appeal against the Karmana court’s decision and ruled to temporarily suspend the operations of Shop No. 23 (ammonia) of Navoi Azot JSC, along with three workshops belonging to Sogda Kimyo Zavod LLC in the Karmana district.
During the inspection, authorities also identified 92 illegal and makeshift lime kilns, which were completely demolished with the participation of relevant agencies.
It should be noted that earlier, more than 20 enterprises polluting the air in the Navoi region had been temporarily shut down.
