An eight-year-old student from Navoi has obtained a B2-level national English certificate, the regional Department of Preschool and School Education reported.
According to the report, Muhammadali Yusupov, a second-grade pupil at School No. 4, achieved the certification at the age of eight. He has thus set a new record in his age category for obtaining a national English language certificate.
For reference, applicants to higher education institutions who hold a B2-level foreign language certificate are awarded the maximum score in the relevant subject.
In addition, foreign language teachers working in general education schools are required to obtain at least a B2-level national or internationally recognized language certificate. This requirement was initially set to take effect on January 1, 2026, but has been extended until the beginning of the 2026–2027 academic year due to several reasons.
Earlier, another student from Navoi, Islombek Mansurov, a fifth-grade pupil at School No. 22, also obtained a B2-level national English certificate.
