Obid Hakimov appointed as Presidential adviser

Obid Orzikulovich Hakimov has been appointed adviser to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Economic Policy. The corresponding decree was signed today, October 30, by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
It is reported that in connection with his new appointment, Hakimov has been relieved of his duties as deputy adviser to the President on Economic Policy and Director of the Center for Economic Research and Reforms.
Obid Hakimov was born in 1977 in Termiz. He graduated from the Tashkent Financial Institute in 1998, Vanderbilt University (USA) in 2000, and Middle Tennessee State University (USA) in 2006.
At different times, he worked as Vice-Rector for Economic Affairs at Westminster International University in Tashkent and Vice-Rector at the Academy of Public Administration.
From 2017 to 2018, he headed a sector within the Presidential Administration’s Service for the Protection of Citizens’ Rights, Monitoring, and Coordination of Work with Appeals from Individuals and Legal Entities.
It should be noted that Obid Orzikulovich Hakimov was appointed Director of the Center for Economic Research and Reforms on July 30 of this year.
