In Samarkand, doctors removed 200 grams of nails and screws from the abdominal cavity of a 29-year-old man. The Samarkand branch of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care reported the case.

According to the report, the 29-year-old man, identified as A.E., was admitted to the medical facility with severe abdominal pain. Diagnostic examinations and laboratory tests conducted in the emergency department revealed a large number of foreign objects, including nails and screws, in the patient’s gastrointestinal tract.

Doctors urgently performed surgery using laparotomy and gastrostomy techniques, during which nails and other metal objects were removed from the abdominal cavity. The patient’s condition is currently assessed as stable.

It was reported that the man had experienced severe stress and, while unable to control his actions, swallowed the objects.

It is worth noting that earlier in India, doctors removed 29 spoons and 19 toothbrushes from the stomach of a 40-year-old man.
