Man detained in Samarkand for keeping nearly 4 kilograms of narcotics at home (video)

Individuals involved in two separate drug-related cases have been detained in Samarkand region. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the report, based on оперативный information received by officers of the Ishtikhon District Department of Internal Affairs, a special operation was carried out in the Mitan township area of the district. During the operation, a man born in 1999 and living in Qo‘shrabot district, acting in prior collusion with his associate born in 1996 and living in Tashkent, was caught while selling 80 grams of the narcotic substance “spice” to a buyer for 2 million soums. Material evidence was seized at the scene. When the vehicle driven by the 1996-born suspect was inspected, officers found an additional 30 grams of “spice,” which was documented in accordance with procedure.

In another operation carried out by district internal affairs officers, it was established that a man born in 1973, who had previously been convicted under Part 5 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code, had been keeping narcotic substances at his residence with the intent to sell them in the future. During the operation, officers documented and seized 1 kilogram and 125 grams of hashish, 703 grams of marijuana, 30 grams of poppy-based narcotic substances, and nearly 2 kilograms of narcotic plant seeds.

In addition, two containers holding dissolved hashish and specially modified devices used for consuming narcotic substances were also found and documented in accordance with procedure.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated in connection with these cases by the Investigation Department under the Ishtikhon District Department of Internal Affairs under Part 5 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code, which concerns the illegal preparation, acquisition, storage and sale of narcotic drugs, their analogues or psychotropic substances with intent to distribute. Investigative actions are currently underway.

It is worth noting that earlier, individuals in Surkhandarya were detained after hiding nearly 191 kilograms of hashish inside 210 Afghan cauldrons.
