Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has invited US President Donald Trump to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan at a time convenient for him. The invitation was extended during a telephone conversation held on December 23.

During the call, the leaders discussed bilateral relations. In particular, dozens of joint projects worth tens of billions of dollars are currently being implemented in such sectors as civil aviation, automotive manufacturing, mining, agriculture, infrastructure, energy and chemicals, information and communication technologies, and other fields.

To ensure the effective advancement of ongoing projects and programs, as well as the development of new initiatives, the American–Uzbek Business and Investment Council has been established. Active work is also underway to create a Joint Investment Fund.

A new mechanism for interregional cooperation has been launched. Delegations from three regions of Uzbekistan have already visited the United States to establish cooperation with individual US states.

International and regional issues were also given special attention during the conversation. In this context, the importance of multilateral cooperation, including within the C5+1 format, was emphasized.

At the conclusion of the call, the sides reaffirmed their intention to continue active high-level dialogue and agreed to promote joint initiatives and programs aimed at expanding practical cooperation.

It is worth noting that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in the Central Asia–US leaders’ summit in the C5+1 format, held at the White House on November 7 this year (November 6 Washington time). At that meeting, he proposed holding the next summit in 2026 in Samarkand, the city where the format was originally established. Earlier, on September 23, during a meeting on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly at the organization’s headquarters, Mirziyoyev had also invited Donald Trump to visit Samarkand.

It should be recalled that on December 23, Donald Trump also held a telephone conversation with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who likewise invited him to visit Kazakhstan. In turn, Trump invited the presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to attend the G20 summit, which will be held in Miami in 2026, as guests.
