Tashkent to host the 4th Asian Youth Games

On October 31, at the 101st Executive Committee meeting of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) held in Bahrain, Tashkent was officially awarded the right to host the 4th Asian Youth Games in 2029. The news was announced by the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan (NOC).
The decision was formally declared during the closing ceremony of the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain on the same day. Thus, Uzbekistan’s capital will host the continent’s most talented young athletes in 2029.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Sports Shahrullo Makhmudov, Deputy Hokim of Tashkent city Durdona Rahimova, and representatives of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan.
During the event, OCA Vice President and First Deputy Chairman of the Uzbekistan NOC Otabek Umarov received the OCA flag, symbolizing Tashkent’s role as the next host of the Games.
For reference, at the recently concluded 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain, Uzbekistan’s delegation achieved remarkable success, securing second place overall behind China with a total of 81 medals—37 gold, 16 silver, and 28 bronze—among more than 4,000 young athletes from 45 Asian countries.
