A 16-year-old student in Tashkent has been detained for stealing money and a mobile phone, according to the Tashkent City Courts.
The teenager, born in 2009 in Surkhandarya region and currently living in Tashkent, reportedly left home after an argument with his parents. On April 2, 2025, he committed a theft in Yakkasaray district. He was found guilty under Article 169, Part 2, Clause “g” of the Criminal Code and fined.
However, the teenager did not learn from this punishment and committed another crime, stealing money and phones from cars with open windows.
The case was considered by the Chilanzar District Court. He was found guilty under Article 169, Part 3, Clause “a” of the Criminal Code and sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment under Article 85.
Previously, a courier who brought contraband from Germany to Tashkent had also been detained.
