A man suspected of distributing narcotics by hiding them was detained during a special operation conducted in Tashkent’s Bektemir District. The Tashkent Main Department of Internal Affairs reported this.
According to the report, various types of packaged narcotic substances were found on the suspect. The operation was then extended, and during an inspection of the suspect’s residence in Tashkent Region, law enforcement officers discovered 2.2 kilograms of various narcotic substances, equivalent to approximately 66,700 doses. The substances were seized as material evidence.
As a result of further оператив measures carried out by officers of the Criminal Investigation Department, it was established that narcotic substances were also being stored at the suspect’s home in Jizzakh Region. Subsequently, 800 grams of synthetic drugs, which had been buried underground and were intended for later distribution, were found at the residence and seized as evidence.
“I have poisoned people. I knew it was a bad thing, but I was tempted by money. I thought I would get paid faster if I got involved. I ask forgiveness from our president, our state, and our people,” the suspect said tearfully.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 273, Part 5 of the Criminal Code, which covers the illegal preparation, acquisition, storage, and distribution of narcotic drugs, their analogues, or psychotropic substances with intent to sell. Under this article, the suspect faces a possible prison sentence of up to 20 years if convicted.
It is worth noting that earlier, individuals were detained in Fergana for hiding narcotics in a vehicle’s fuel tank.
