19-year-old girl caught hiding drugs inside sweets in Tashkent (video)

A 19-year-old girl who attempted to receive drugs hidden inside confectionery sent from abroad has been detained in Tashkent, the State Security Service reported.

According to the report, during an operation conducted in Andijan region, a BYD vehicle belonging to a previously convicted 35-year-old man from the Yuqori Chirchiq district of Tashkent region was stopped and inspected in the Khojaabad district. Inside the vehicle, officers discovered 5 kg 946 g of the synthetic drug mephedrone packaged in six polyethylene bags. The suspect was transporting the drugs to Tashkent after retrieving them from a “dead drop” location left by drug couriers.

In another operation carried out by the State Security Service and the Customs Committee in the capital, a resident of Chilanzar district born in 2006 was detained after receiving 350 g of the synthetic drug clephedrone, which had been hidden among confectionery products and sent via an international courier shipment. The operation continued, and the detainee’s accomplice, a 35-year-old resident of Yashnabad district, was also caught in the act.

It was established that the accomplice had set up a drug laboratory in his home. Law enforcement seized 5.3 kg of synthetic narcotics, substances resembling hashish and marijuana oils, electronic scales, laboratory flasks, mobile phones, and equipment used in the laboratory as evidence.

In another case, a previously convicted man born in 1981 and living in Buvayda district of Fergana region was detained while selling 1 kg 23 g of heroin illegally smuggled from Kyrgyzstan to Andijan region for 18,500 US dollars to an undercover buyer.

In Syrdarya region, three residents of Denov district in Surkhandarya region were stopped in a Cobalt car at the Saykhun traffic checkpoint. During an inspection conducted in the presence of witnesses, officers discovered 2,516 tablets of the potent drug Regapen hidden inside the car door.

It was reported that the suspects had retrieved the medication from a dead drop location in Kokand that had been left by couriers.

Criminal cases have been opened in all incidents, and investigations are ongoing.

Earlier, it was reported that an 18-year-old girl and a 22-year-old man in the Mirzo Ulugbek district of Tashkent had turned their home into a drug laboratory.
