One person dies in accident involving Onix in Tashkent

The driver of an Onix lost control of the vehicle while driving in Tashkent, hitting a pedestrian as well as Nexia-3 and Cobalt cars. This was reported by the Traffic Safety Service of the Tashkent City Police Department.
According to the statement, the incident occurred on 28 November at around 11:10 a.m. on Abdullah Qodiriy Street in Yunusabad district. The driver of the Onix, born in 1994, lost control of the steering and struck a pedestrian who was standing on the right side of the road. After that, the Onix driver also collided with Nexia-3 and Cobalt vehicles parked in the right lane, causing a traffic accident.
As a result of the accident, the pedestrian died from injuries sustained in the collision.
The Tashkent City Police Department’s Investigation Directorate has opened a criminal case under Article 266, Part 2 of the Criminal Code (“Violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation rules”). The investigation is ongoing.
It is worth noting that earlier, an Onix driver hit a traffic officer in the Namangan region. Additionally, in the same region, a traffic officer attempting to stop a violating Onix driver was killed.
