Yesterday, February 5, state fire control authorities conducted inspections of buildings in Tashkent where large crowds may gather, focusing on compliance with emergency and fire safety regulations. This was reported to QALAMPIR.UZ by the Tashkent City Fire and Rescue Department.

The inspections revealed serious violations of fire safety rules in a total of 10 entertainment and shopping complexes located in the Mirzo Ulugbek, Chilanzar, Yakkasaray, Yangihayot, Yunusabad, Bektemir, and Yashnobod districts. These deficiencies posed a significant risk to human life and health.

As a result, the operation of these facilities has been temporarily suspended until all identified shortcomings are fully addressed.

For context, on January 31 of this year, a fire occurred at the Aviator shopping and entertainment center in Yashnobod district, Tashkent, resulting in the death of a three-year-old girl. A criminal case has been opened under Article 192-11 of the Criminal Code (abuse of authority by officials of a non-governmental or other private organization) and Article 259 (violation of fire safety regulations).
