A 1.5-meter-long snake was discovered in the territory of the National Park located in the Chilanzor district of Tashkent. This information was reported by the city’s Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change.

An inspector from the department visited the site to investigate the situation. Following the examination, it was determined that the snake is a non-venomous, multi-colored (patterned) racing snake.

According to the report, this species is widespread throughout Uzbekistan, including in populated urban areas, and does not pose a threat to people or pets.

It was noted that these snakes are orderly by nature and feed on rodents, which are carriers of infectious diseases harmful to human health and life.

The department urged citizens not to be afraid of this type of snake and to avoid excessive fear.

Previously, a 2-meter snake was found in a house in the Gijduvan district of the Bukhara region.
