On February 6, an extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of the Uzbekistan Futsal Federation was held. During the meeting, Nadir Eliboyev stepped down from his position as head coach of the national team. This was reported by the federation’s press service.
“The Executive Committee of the Uzbekistan Futsal Federation expresses its gratitude to the national team’s coaching staff for their work over the past period and wishes them success in their future endeavors,” the official statement said.
A decision was also made for the entire coaching staff of the Uzbekistan national futsal team to resign along with Nadir Eliboyev.
In addition, it was announced that the new coaching staff of the national futsal team would be presented to the public in the coming days.
According to the source, the meeting included a critical discussion of the national team’s performance at the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026.
It was also noted that during the tournament held in Indonesia, the team performed below its potential. The players were criticized for a lack of fighting spirit and determination to win. As a result, although the team advanced to the knockout stage with difficulty, it failed to achieve its objectives after being eliminated in the quarterfinals.
