Number of divorces in Uzbekistan in 2025 announced

In 2025, civil courts in Uzbekistan dissolved 37,544 marriages. This was reported by the press service of the Supreme Court.

It was noted that during the reporting period, civil courts issued 1,519,814 court orders to recover more than 10.8 trillion soums in compulsory payments, including alimony for minor children, wages and equivalent payments, claims based on written agreements and acknowledged by debtors, utility debt payments, and other mandatory payments.

In addition, 649,652 civil cases were examined. Of these, claims were satisfied in 506,135 cases, denied in 76,138 cases, left without consideration in 60,373 cases, and proceedings were terminated in 7,006 cases.

The highest number of civil disputes was recorded in Tashkent City, Tashkent Region, Fergana Region, Samarkand Region, and Andijan Region.

Among the completed civil cases, 206,399 concerned contractual disputes (sale and purchase, credit, loans, and others), 70,535 related to divorce proceedings, 26,960 involved housing relations, 19,914 fell under special categories, 12,982 concerned the demolition of unauthorized residential buildings or structures, along with other categories of cases.

An analysis of divorce-related cases shows that out of the completed proceedings, claims were satisfied and marriages were dissolved in 37,544 cases. In 24,244 cases, claims were denied and marriages were not dissolved. A total of 6,239 cases were left without consideration, and proceedings were terminated in 2,508 cases.

Of the 3,119 completed reinstatement cases, claims were satisfied in 1,356 cases, denied in 1,229 cases, left without consideration in 473 cases, and proceedings were terminated in 61 cases.

A total of 6,452 private rulings were issued and forwarded to the relevant authorities.

At the appellate level, judicial panels for civil cases of regional and equivalent courts reviewed 12,956 cases. As a result, 2,312 decisions of first-instance courts were overturned, and 757 court decisions were amended. At the cassation level, 8,457 cases were reviewed, with 1,668 first-instance decisions overturned and 708 decisions amended. Under supervisory review, 5,670 cases were examined, resulting in the annulment of 482 lower-court decisions and amendments to 161 decisions.

The Judicial Panel for Civil Cases of the Supreme Court reviewed 363 cases under supervisory procedure. As a result, 171 lower-court decisions were overturned, and 53 decisions were amended.

It is worth noting that in 2024, civil courts in Uzbekistan dissolved 32,217 marriages.
