Family disputes increasing in Uzbekistan (video)

Family disputes in civil courts are rising year by year, the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan reported yesterday, February 4, at a press conference held by Alisher Usmonov, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court and Chairman of the Criminal Panel.
According to the report, 119,000 family disputes were handled in 2024, and more than 134,000 in 2025, marking a 12 percent increase compared to the previous year. During the same period, 5,235 families who were on the verge of divorce were reconciled.
Additionally, over 14,000 labor dispute claims were reviewed in 2025, with 59 percent of them being satisfied. The number of such cases increased by 8.5 percent compared to the previous year.
Between 2023 and 2025, 3,119 claims related to reinstatement at work were considered, and 43.5 percent were granted.
During 2025, successful labor claims resulted in the recovery of 155 billion Uzbek soums in compensation for mandatory unpaid leave, unpaid wages, and damages in favor of the claimants.
It is worth noting that earlier reports indicated that courts in 2025 handled more than 4 million cases, nearly 422 people were acquitted, and analyses of youth crime trends were also released.
