Uzbek athletes win medals at world championship

A 25-year-old Uzbek para-athlete, Yorqinbek Odilov, won a silver medal in the javelin throw (F57 category) yesterday, September 28, at the world championship currently taking place in New Delhi, India. Odilov set a new personal record with a throw of 52.06 meters.
Men’s javelin throw (F57):
- Gold medal: Muharrem Khalvandi (Turkey) – 53.30 meters;
- Silver medal: Yorqinbek Odilov (Uzbekistan) – 52.06 meters;
- Bronze medal: Amonollah Papi (Iran) – 51.55 meters.
In the men’s shot put (F37 category), Tolibboy Yuldoshev also claimed a place among the medalists. The Paris 2024 Paralympic champion and medalist secured the bronze medal at the world championship with a result of 15.86 meters. This marked the best achievement of Yuldoshev’s career to date.

- Gold medal: Albert Khintsagov (Neutral athlete) – 16.55 meters (World championship record);
- Silver medal: Aleksandr Belobokov (Neutral athlete) – 16.16 meters;
- Bronze medal: Tolibboy Yuldoshev (Uzbekistan) – 15.86 meters.
This result marked the second world championship medal for both Yorqinbek Odilov and Tolibboy Yuldoshev. Odilov had previously won a silver medal at the 2023 World Championship in Paris, while Yuldoshev also claimed a bronze at that event.
It is worth noting that earlier, Uzbekistan’s Yegor Bolotov won a gold medal at the World Para Swimming Championships in Singapore.
