Schoolgirl dies after being hit by car in Jizzakh

On December 7 last year, a minor schoolgirl in Jizzakh was struck by a car and later died in hospital, the regional Internal Affairs Department reported.

According to preliminary information, the girl sustained severe injuries in the accident and was hospitalized, but passed away on December 20.

The incident reportedly occurred due to the driver violating traffic rules.

A criminal case has been opened under Article 266, Part 2 of the Criminal Code (violation of traffic safety rules or use of vehicles). The suspect has been detained in accordance with the law, and initial investigative actions are underway.

Social media reports indicate that the driver, born in 2000, was operating a Cobalt car registered to his father at the time of the accident.

Earlier, in Khorezm region, a 16-year-old girl born in 2009 was killed after being hit by a speeding Gentra car while crossing a pedestrian walkway in Yangiarik district, despite receiving medical treatment.
