Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulates Uzbek people

Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva sent her sincere wishes to the Uzbek people on the occasion of May 9 — Remembrance and Honour Day. She wrote about this on her Telegram channel.

According to Mirziyoyeva, Uzbekistan provided shelter to thousands of evacuated people during the war.

“During World War II, Uzbekistan sent its sons to the front, gave shelter to thousands of evacuees, worked selflessly behind the front lines and made a worthy contribution to the victory over fascism,” Mirziyoyeva said.

She added that this day is a remembrance of the severe trials endured by the people, as well as an expression of deep respect for the generation that showed courage, perseverance, compassion and loyalty to noble values.

“May peace and tranquillity in our country continue, may prosperity and confidence in the future prevail in every family, and may our children never know what war is,” Mirziyoyeva said.
