The Asian Boxing Championships for senior athletes are continuing in Mongolia. Today, April 9, two representatives of the Uzbekistan national team missed out on gold medals.
Aziza Zokirova, who competed in the under-75 kg weight category, lost 2-3 to China’s Bao Szi, while in the under-80 kg category, Kazakhstan’s Nadezhda Ryabets defeated another representative of Uzbekistan, Rukhshona Parpiyeva, by a score of 5-0. As a result, both Uzbek boxers had to settle for silver medals.
It should be recalled that in the semifinal bouts held on April 6-7 this year, Nigina O‘ktamova in the under-57 kg category, Abdurahmon Mahmudjonov in the under-60 kg category, Oltinoy Sotimboyeva in the over-80 kg category, and Oysha Toirova in the under-70 kg category were defeated and claimed bronze medals.
It is worth noting that after her semifinal bout, O‘ktamova expressed dissatisfaction with the refereeing.
