Uzbekistan’s boxers finish the Asian Championships with 3 gold medals

The Asian Boxing Championships being held in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, concluded today, April 10. At the tournament, Uzbekistan’s national team won three gold medals.

In today’s finals, Abdullah Madaminov in the 65 kg category, Fazliddin Erkinboyev in the 80 kg category, and Halimjon Mamasoliyev in the 90 kg category all defeated their opponents to bring Uzbekistan its first gold medals of the tournament. Meanwhile, Jasurbek Yo‘ldoshev in the 85 kg category and Javohir Abdurahimov in the 75 kg category claimed silver medals. Overall, Uzbekistan finished the competition with three gold, four silver and four bronze medals.

Uzbekistan’s medal winners at the Asian Championships were as follows:

  • Gold medals: Abdullah Madaminov (65 kg), Fazliddin Erkinboyev (80 kg), Halimjon Mamasoliyev (90 kg);
  • Silver medals: Javohir Abdurahimov (75 kg), Jasurbek Yo‘ldoshev (85 kg), Aziza Zokirova (75 kg), Ruxshona Parpiyeva (80 kg);
  • Bronze medals: Abdurahmon Mahmudjonov (60 kg), Nigina O‘ktamova (57 kg), Oysha Toirova (70 kg), Oltinoy Sotimboyeva (+80 kg).

It is worth noting that Nigina O‘ktamova, who won a bronze medal at the tournament, had earlier expressed dissatisfaction with the officiating in her semifinal bout.
