Videos have circulated on social media showing another gas leak at the “M-25” mine in Boysun district, Surkhandarya region. The situation at the mine is stable and under the control of specialists, the Ministry of Energy reported.
According to the ministry, the incident shown in the videos occurred at well No. 202 of the “M-25” mine and reflects a geological process observed a week ago, when a previously ignited flame temporarily went out.
Experts emphasized that this is a result of natural geological processes at the mine, and the flame was quickly re-ignited.
“At present, the situation at the ‘M-25’ mine in Boysun is stable, and all operations are being carried out under the supervision of specialists,” the report stated.
The ministry added that the gas was intentionally burned to prevent the release of harmful substances into the atmosphere. This method is a standard procedure to avoid environmental pollution and fully complies with international industrial safety requirements.
It is worth noting that on November 2 of this year, at well No. 202 of the “M-25” mine, a temporary extinguishing of a previously ignited flame was also observed. According to specialists, this was caused by natural geological processes at the mine.
