Attempt to sell 6 sotok of land for $54,000 foiled in Qibray

In Tashkent region, individuals attempting to sell 6 sotok (0.06 hectares) of farmland for $54,000 were caught, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor’s Office reported.

According to the report, during an urgent operation conducted jointly by the Qibray district department and the National Security Service, citizens R.S. (previously convicted of fraud) and M.T. exploited the trust of F.Sh., the owner of the “I.O.” farm, and allegedly attempted to sell 6 sotok of irrigated land by misrepresenting its status. They received $25,000 in advance before being apprehended with material evidence.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 168 (fraud) and Articles 28 and 211 (bribery) of the Criminal Code, and investigative measures are ongoing.

Previously, in Bandikhon district of Surkhandarya region, an individual was caught attempting to sell 3.5 hectares of land from the district administration’s reserve for 1.5 billion soums.
