On February 26, during a Youth Day event, a sixth-grade student asked Almalyk Mayor Qobil Hamdamov for the opportunity to serve as mayor for one minute. The Almalyk city administration reported the incident on its Telegram channel.

According to the statement, during a meeting with young people, sixth-grade student Firdavs Toshboyev requested to sit in the mayor’s chair for one minute. Mayor Qobil Hamdamov granted him the opportunity.

“I am one of the talented youth of Almalyk. Today, there was talk about 300 dreams and goals. Could we fulfill at least one of those 300 dreams? May I take your place for one minute?” the student asked.

The mayor accepted the proposal and allowed the schoolboy to briefly assume the role.

“However, after just a few questions and appeals, he realized how heavy the responsibility of leadership is. One minute was enough for Firdavs to understand that being mayor is not just about standing at the podium, but about carrying great responsibility,” the city administration said in its statement.

Earlier, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented a car to a fourth-grade student who performed a live song during a meeting with youth at the Kuksaroy residence.
