Man detained in Tashkent for selling drugs from his home (video)

A man has been detained in Tashkent for packaging and selling narcotic substances from his residence, according to the Tashkent City Main Department of Internal Affairs.

It was reported that during a joint operation conducted by officers of the Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs and the State Security Service, the home of a citizen identified as Sh. was searched in the presence of witnesses. Various types of narcotic substances were discovered during the inspection.

Specifically, officers found 82 matchboxes containing drugs inside a cupboard in the kitchen, along with a plastic bag holding 60 small divided matchboxes. Additionally, from the lower compartment of a refrigerator, law enforcement seized 10 black packages and 90 small tape-wrapped portions containing a black, sticky substance.

Further inspection revealed 20 packets containing a plasticine-like brown substance with a strong odor. The suspect had reportedly prepared the substances in separate packages for sale. Four electronic scales were also found during the search.

In total, 3 kilograms and 755 grams of narcotic substances worth approximately 2.029 billion soums were seized from the residence. As a result, the distribution of 18,755 individual drug packages among the population was prevented.

According to investigators, the suspect prepared the narcotic substances using household utensils such as a pot and ladle, measured them with scales, and packaged them individually. All seized items were documented and transferred to the duty unit of the internal affairs department as material evidence.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 273, Part 5 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, which covers the illegal production, acquisition, storage, and distribution of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances with intent to sell. A preventive measure of detention has been applied to the suspect.

Preliminary investigative actions are currently underway.

Earlier, individuals involved in the sale of narcotic substances in Syrdarya and Tashkent regions were also detained.
