President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has received an official invitation from US President Donald Trump to join an international initiative aimed at strengthening peace and resolving conflicts in the Middle East. The information was confirmed by the Uzbek leader’s press secretary.

According to the letter, the initiative is based on a comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza, announced on September 29, 2025, supported by world leaders, and endorsed by UN Security Council Resolution No. 2803 adopted on November 17, 2025.

The main objective of the initiative is to establish a new international body, the Peace Council, bringing together countries ready to assume responsibility for achieving long-term peace, stability, and security.

Uzbekistan has been invited to join the Peace Council as a founding member.

It was reported that President Mirziyoyev sent a response letter to his American counterpart, expressing Uzbekistan’s readiness to participate in the Peace Council as a founding state.

In his letter, the President emphasized that Uzbekistan views the initiative as an important step toward resolving longstanding conflicts in the Middle East and ensuring peace and stability across the wider region.

It should be recalled that on January 16, US President Donald Trump announced the establishment of a Peace Council for the Gaza Strip. The creation of the body is part of Trump’s peace plan for Gaza, which also предусматривает the deployment of international forces.

The executive committee of the Peace Council includes US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, the President’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, and former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Washington has sent invitations to the leaders of 50 countries to participate in the Peace Council, including Argentina, Canada, France, Germany, Australia, Bahrain, Egypt, Turkey, Israel, and Russia. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has also received an invitation.

According to Bloomberg, the United States is requesting at least $1 billion in contributions from countries seeking permanent seats on the international Peace Council on Gaza. Donald Trump himself will serve as the first chair of the executive council and will personally decide on the admission of new members.

Each member state of the Peace Council will be appointed for a term of no more than three years and will have one vote. Decisions will be adopted by a majority vote but must be approved by the chair, Donald Trump.
