Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov celebrated the 10th anniversary of the C5+1 platform with fellow Central Asian foreign ministers and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Saidov shared the news on his Telegram channel.

“Together with our colleagues in Washington, we marked the 10th anniversary of the C5+1 platform. We express our deep gratitude to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio for the warm reception,” Saidov wrote.

He added that all parties are working collectively to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation between Central Asia and the United States, expand trade and investment relations, and ensure regional stability and sustainable development.

“Uzbekistan once again confirms its commitment to constructive dialogue and practical cooperation to promote peace, prosperity, and common development in our region,” Saidov emphasized.

For context, the C5+1 format was established in 2015. The first summit with the participation of heads of state was held on September 19, 2023, attended by U.S. President Joe Biden, Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyzstan’s leader Sadyr Japarov, Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon, Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedow, and Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Another summit under this format is expected to take place at the White House on November 6.

It is also noted that on November 5, during his working visit to Washington, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Senator Steve Daines, co-chair of the U.S. Senate Caucus on Central Asia, at his designated residence.
