Penalty points system delayed: Not coming into force from May 1

A regulatory legal document on the procedure for calculating penalty points is currently being developed in Uzbekistan according to the established procedure. Therefore, penalty points will not come into force from May 1. This was reported by the Road Traffic Safety Service of the Department of Public Security under the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It is noted that after the adoption of the relevant regulatory legal document, the period and procedure for calculating penalty points for traffic violations will be clearly defined.

It is worth recalling that on March 20, the government published a draft resolution "On the Introduction of a System for Assessing Traffic Violations Based on Penalty Points." It was initially planned that the discussion of the resolution would continue until April 4 of this year, with the system expected to come into force from May 1.
