Onix hits a 5-year-old boy in Andijan

The driver of an Onix car hit a 5-year-old boy, injuring him in the city of Andijan, the regional Department of Road Traffic Safety reported.
At 20:25 on May 21 this year, a 22-year-old driver struck the boy while he was crossing the road at an unregulated pedestrian crossing on Mashrab Street in the “Uzbegim” neighborhood.
As a result of the incident, the boy was hospitalized with injuries. No further information has been reported regarding his condition.
A criminal case has been initiated against the driver under Article 266, Part 1 (violation of traffic or vehicle operation safety rules) of the Criminal Code by an investigator of the Investigation Department under the regional Department of Internal Affairs. Investigative proceedings are currently underway.
Earlier, a 2-year-old boy playing in the street was reported to have been hit by a Genta in the Margilan district of the Ferghana Valley. The female driver was deprived of her driving license for two years, subjected to a two-year restriction of liberty with a complete prohibition on leaving home, and ordered to pay 2.3 million soums in material damages and 25 million soums in moral damages to the child’s father.
