A shipment of humanitarian aid from the government and people of Tajikistan was delivered to residents of Gaza in need on February 8, the Tajik Foreign Ministry reported.

“On the evening of February 8, a convoy of six trucks carrying food supplies, warm clothing, tents and waterproof sheeting arrived in Gaza,” the statement said.

According to the ministry, the trucks crossed the Rafah checkpoint on the Egypt–Palestine border with the participation of Tajikistan’s ambassador to Egypt and representatives of charitable organizations.

Tajikistan has been providing ongoing humanitarian and financial assistance to Gaza since the early days of the conflict, the ministry noted.

Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin announced the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza during a press conference on February 6.

He also recalled that in January 2025, Tajikistan, together with several other countries, sent 200 tonnes of wheat flour to residents of Gaza.

The minister emphasized that Tajikistan’s position on Gaza remains unchanged and that the country consistently supports a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

The Rafah border crossing, Gaza’s main gateway to the outside world, partially reopened on February 2 after a two-year closure.
