Earlier, it was reported that children attending preschool institutions in the Piskent, Buka, Okkorgon, and Kuyi Chirchik districts of the Tashkent region suffered mass poisoning. Following the incident, criminal cases were initiated against several responsible individuals from private companies providing outsourcing services. Nurmat Otabekov, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on sanitary and epidemiological well-being and public health, provided an update on the current condition of the hospitalized children.

According to him, as of 12:00 pm on September 29, the number of children receiving treatment in hospitals across the Tashkent region stands at 38. Their condition is stable, and the illness is progressing in a mild form. No severe or complicated cases have been recorded. All the children remain under constant medical supervision and are receiving the necessary treatment. The recovery process is being overseen by leading specialists at the national level.

’’The parents are being regularly informed about their children’s health. In the coming days, the remaining children are also expected to be discharged and sent home. The situation is fully stable. The recovery process is progressing with positive dynamics. The state bodies and medical institutions are keeping the situation under constant control,’’ Nurmat Otabekov said.

It is worth noting that earlier, criminal cases were initiated against responsible individuals from several private companies providing outsourcing services under Part 1 of Article 257-1 of the Criminal Code (violation of sanitary legislation or anti-epidemic rules) following the incident. The case has been placed under the supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office, and a special working group has been established under the leadership of First Deputy Prosecutor General Bahriddin Valiev to ensure a thorough, comprehensive, and high-quality investigation.

Previously, it was reported that the changes in children’s health may have been caused by poor-quality dairy products. The 3.2% kefir supplied to the preschools was found to have been produced at a workshop in the Okkorgon district.
